THE ROOTS OF OUR NAME

You might wonder about the name, “Rendezvous.” Rendezvous Farm was named in honor of the Old West gatherings referred to as “rendezvous.” The Rocky Mountain Region is famous for the lively meetings where Native peoples, trappers, mountain settlers, travelers and all kinds of folks came together in a festival-like atmosphere of trading furs, supplies, goods and stories. So, when the like-minded, yet diverse, combination of people who formed our farm came together on this picturesque property, it seemed to them reminiscent of an old-timey rendezvous, and thus the name Rendezvous Farm took hold.

WHO WE ARE TODAY

Rendezvous is a year-round, Certified Organic farm located in Crawford, Colorado, about 100 miles from Aspen. Our North Fork Valley community is known for its commitment to organic and sustainable farming methods, and we are proud to call this area home.


We focus on only a few acres of cultivation to grow exceptional, quality produce. During our peak summer season, Rendezvous offers hundreds of items to choose from, from bulk quantities of greens and storage crops (potatoes, turnips, carrots, etc.), to specialty herbs and fruits.


Throughout the fall and winter months, we utilize four greenhouses on the farm to continue growing greens and vegetables. And with our ample food storage capacity, we can also offer you potatoes, carrots etc., through the winter.


To ensure an easy ordering process, we are constantly updating our website to reflect exactly what we have available. You are always welcome to call or e-mail to see if we have something special, or if we can locally source a product for you. Orders are processed the day before delivery. We harvest specifically to fill your orders ensuring you receive the freshest possible product.


Rendezvous Farm delivers on a regular, reliable basis to the Roaring Fork Valley—twice a week during the summer months, and once a week in winter—via a refrigerated truck. We take great pride in and offer lots of attention to detail and packaging.

Alyson Harris / General Manager


Alyson graduated from the College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine, with a Bachelor of Arts in Human Ecology.


As a student Alyson worked at several organic vegetable farms both in the United States and abroad, where she learned organic practices and helped to grow food for the surrounding communities.


Throughout her life, Alyson has been focused on doing something that has a positive effect on the world. With a lifelong passion and appreciation towards plants, she naturally found herself attracted to the idea of cultivating and caring for them.


“Understanding the negative effects that conventional agriculture can have on water systems, soils, and human health, I began seeking knowledge and understanding for agricultural practices that can provide healthy and nutritious food for humans while focusing on ecologically friendly practices,” says Alyson. “After a few seasons working on farms with inspirational and dedicated mentors, I realized growing healthy food for my community is how I would like to spend my time and energy.”


Alyson lives on site at Rendezvous Farm. In her spare time she makes pottery. She also enjoys mountain adventures with her hound dog, Angus, and has recently taken up cross-country skiing.
