About The Principle
Gene Fourney, CEO/President of InteractiveWest, has over 17 years of internet marketing and web development experience beginning with startup of an Internet Service Provider (ISP) and IT company in Raleigh, North Carolina (1995-2003). Gene Fourney was responsible for planning and execution of marketing and sales strategies of internet access, web design, web hosting and programming services to corporate customers within the region. His company was ranked the 5th largest ISP in the Raleigh, NC market in 1999 by Triangle Business Journal servicing over 7,500 residential and corporate customers.
Gene Fourney moved to Denver in 2004 where he started up The Highlands Group, a full service advertising agency within the the Advance Colorado Center, a common headquarters for Colorado's leading non-profit trade associations, that, in turn, provided a variety of services and programs to companies, entrepreneurs and individuals in order to stimulate job growth and promote a sustainable corporate environment in the State of Colorado. The Advance Colorado Center was a partnership between the Colorado Economic Development Commission, the Office of Economic Development and International Trade and the University of Colorado - Denver. The Highlands Group provided a full range of advertising and marketing services including web development and internet marketing services to clients such as Colorado Software & Internet Association (now Colorado Technology Association), Colorado BioScience, Colorado Film Commission (now Colorado Office of Film, Television and Media), Race Across America and others.
Gene Fourney moved the business to Aspen, Colorado in 2009 renaming the company InteractiveWest where the firm focused on providing web development and internet marketing services to larger graphic design firms and advertising agencies in Denver and Aspen areas. Because of increased client work with the University of Colorado Boulder and additional web development projects with other Denver based clients, Gene Fourney moved InteractiveWest back to Denver in June 2012.
Today, InteractiveWest provides web development services for clients located in Denver, Colorado and throughout the Front Range (Ft. Collins, Loveland, Colorado Springs and Pueblo), Roaring Fork Valley (Glenwood Springs, Carbondale, Basalt and Aspen) and Western Slope (Grand Junction, Montrose and Delta).

PCI Compliance:
The major credit card issuers created PCI (Payment Card Industry) compliance standards to protect personal information and ensure security when credit card transactions are processed. All members of the Payment Card Industry including financial institutions, credit card companies and merchants must comply with these standards if they want to accept credit card payments. Failure to meet PCI Compliance Standards can result in fines from credit card companies and banks and even the loss of the ability to process credit cards.
Ecommerce websites need to be especially careful of the way that cardholder data is transmitted. Security Upgrades:
InteractiveWest is responsible for implementing security upgrades related to our server's operating system, server processes such as Apache and Plesk Control Panel as part of our annual web hosting fee. Joomla, WordPress, Drupal, Expression Engine, Magento and other Content Management Systems and Ecommerce applications release security related version upgrades from time to time. Since the upgrade is specific to our client's application and not our server, InteractiveWest's server administrator will automatically handle security upgrades at an additional hourly charge.
